We are continuing to thrive, despite the recession, and bookings for tours this year are
good, and many trips are full. We are striving to continue to offer excellent value without compromise on
quality.
A case in point was our Japan trip this year, where we ran across a group from one of the world's
largest bird tour companies, who had seen 50% fewer species than us in the same timeframe, with their price
being over 50% higher!

Japan: Nigel had the privilege to lead our Japan trip this year, and we had an excellent series of records. These
included great views of Blakiston's Fish Owl, dancing Red-crowned Cranes, Steller's Sea-eagles on the pack ice, a huge flock of
Mandarin Duck, and the side-show (albeit inconvenient) of an erupting volcano.
