Welcome to the Sarus Bird Tours website. Within these pages, you will find a range of birdwatching tours, to cater for all with a love of birds. Tours range from fast-paced itineraries seeking out all the endemics and specialities of a country, to easy-paced single-location holidays.

In addition to advertised tours, we specialise in arranging and running private tours for small groups. We have especial expertise in East Africa and Japan, and have contacts in most countries.

Scheduled Tours: These tours are on set dates, and are long-haul desitnations. Prices shown are for Ground Arrangements only, but flights can be added if required, for which an indicative price is given.

Euroshort Tours: A new innovation, these excellent value guided tours are long weekends to European locations, which take advantage of excellent flights offered by budget airlines. Flights are included in the prices.

Anytime Tours: We are also pleased to offer these in association with Fatbirder, one of the internet's leading birding websites. They are designed for couples and small groups. The itineraries here are supplemented by many more at Fatbirder Anytime Tours Website

Kenya opens again....
As you will no doubt have heard on the news, there has been some disruption and protests in Kenya following the elections at the end of 2007. During this period, travel advisories advised against visiting Kenya. These have now been relaxed, and a new government is agreed. We are therefore able to renew normal operations to this fabulous country.

Hand Baggage ....
Hand baggage allowances have been relaxed slightly by UK Airports. However, you will need to check with the airline's website to verify individual policies on weight and size. Also, be aware that different airports currently have different policies, but this is hoped to be standardised soon. Liquids and gels are not allowed through security, unless in a resealable plastic bag (usually available from security) in containers of a maximum capacity of 100ml.

Thanks to all those who dropped in to see us at the Rio Grande Valley Bird Festival in Harlingen, Texas. Apologies for the thrown-together nature of our stand, but we were hampered by the loss of all the exhibition stands and brochures by the airline we were using,
